Where Home Meets Heart

Papaw Clark 1939-2018

Tradition

Our Tennessee farm is a living example of the work ethic Papaw Clark instilled in Jordan from a young age. Had it not been for Mr. Clark — known simply as Papaw to all of us — who knows where we would be today. His influence is woven into every fence line, every pasture, and every lesson Jordan learned growing up.

Papaw came from a mining family in Hopkins County, Kentucky. Born on August 18, 1938, to Orene Nelson Clark, Sr. and Velia Hight Clark, he grew up with grit, determination, and a deep respect for hard work.

He went on to build an incredible legacy: owning several mines, hundreds of acres of farmland, raising a large herd of cattle, and running the Christian County Livestock Company. Over the years, he also operated Donaldson Creek Coal Company, J.R. Livestock Farms, and W.K. Feeds.

Papaw was a coal miner, a farmer, a businessman, and a mentor. But to Jordan, he was the man who taught him how to work the land, raise cattle, fix equipment, and show up for the people you love. His values are the heartbeat of Clarkmore Farm, and we carry his legacy with pride every single day.
